Busy few days!
After a couple days of visiting, parties, shopping and time with Jonathan and Erin, I finally have a quite few minutes to get caught up on the blogsite. Quite a bit of drama and excitement for Lorna and I getting here and Jonathan was late getting in from TO on Saturday also so needless to say I have had my fill of Airports for a while!
The weather here in Hfx is crappy with quite a bit of snow overnight and really high winds. I ran for a grand total of 35 mins this AM in the ice slush and wind like i never ran in before! But my run streak in 33 days and the last 8 are for the 100/100 challenge....92 days to go!! Falling a bit behind on the other 2 challenges I have committed to but I WILL GET CAUGHT UP. Really finding the one hundred pushups tough but its suppose to be!

OK....I have had enough Airport
Its 6:23 Halifax time and I spent the night here at the Airport...slept for about 3 minutes...Lorna is still in TO and a very frustrating night for both of us. My flight finally got in at 2:15 am and of course no rental car places were open. Lorna got some good news that she is confirmed for tomorrow (Sunday) morning flight but stand by for 6 flight to Hfx today. I predict she will be on the same flight as Jonathan and Sonya late this afternoon.
I have some catching up to do on my self imposed challenges.....I am keeping up the running but I need to double up on the others but I will get it done. I am so tired I'm not but its going to hit me like a ton of bricks soon...I'm going to get the rental car and check into the Hotel....Later!

Sitting at YYC
Looks like things are starting to back up if your flying across Canada today. I will be at least an hour leaving Calgary for Montreal and Lorna is just getting off the ground....I'm going to board now...the good news is I got a 6k run in up and down the drop off area for departures....funny security didn't wrestle me to the ground!!! It was cold!!!
Landed in Montreal and Lorna didn't leave Calgary yet so she will not get to Hfx tonite...hopfully tomorrow.

The Holiday Season Begins......NOW!

Just a quick post to update the week so far. Monday was the beginning of slowtwitch 100 runs in 100 days challenge. And if you just came out from under a rock, http://www.slowtwitch.com/ is the most popular "everything triathlon" website ever! I am 4 for 4 so far and plan to run every day for 100 days untill mid March. This will give me a smokin' good running base for the tri season and keep me motivated for the long Northern Alberta winter!!
While were talking challenges here...check out http://www.hundredpushups.com/ This along with the hundred bicycle style crunches (that I invented...styled exactly after the hundred pushups), is all a part of my grandeous plan to swim fast this year.

I am travelling to Hfx tomorrow for the holidays and to hug my sweety above! I have a couple of longer airport waits in Calgary and Montreal so my running stuff will be in my carry on so I will get at least a 30 minute run in somewhere....but probably outside because they get a bit suspicious about you running in an airport! Shouldn't there be fitness centers in airports?....They should convert the bars to fitness centers!

OK....Here I go again!!
I attempted this almost a year ago and got a grand total of 1 post to my blog. It was a New Years Resolution to start a blog and like all my other resolutions, if fell by the wayside. But that was then and I am getting a good head start on 2009! This was originally intended to be a journal of my training as I lead up to Ironman Canada in August of last year....so lets fast forward a year and start again for Ironman Canada 2009.
I will be writing more about my plans and goals for the remainder of this year and 2009 in upcoming posts. But tomorrow is the first day of the Slowtwitch 100/100 Challenge....and I love a good challenge and the motivation it gives me to keep going. The Challenge is to run 100 times in 100 days...and a run is defined as at least 30 mins of running...no race walking, jumping jacks, jazzerize....just plain old fashioned running!! You are allowed to run on a Treadmill....and I have one next to my office at work so my excuses not to get this done are few. You can skip a day and double or triple but my plan is one run every day for 100 days. Getting warmed up for this I am coming off 24 consecutive days of running so I AM READY. I have a couple more challenges that will focus on some core strengthening that i will post about soon.
18km run at a bright and sunny 28 below today with some swim drills before at the Leisure Center. Bring on the 100/100 Challenge!
